What is counselling?

According to the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy): “Counselling and psychotherapy are umbrella terms that cover a range of talking therapies. They are delivered by trained practitioners who work with people over a short or long term to help them bring about effective change or enhance their wellbeing”.

As a trained counsellor, I work in a supportive way, which allows you, as client, to focus on what you choose to explore and discuss. I use the relationship with my client as a means of healing and change and, with respect and your permission, offer feedback and guidance to help you move along in your recovery goals.

Appointments are an hour and are usually weekly, with evening and week-end appointments also available.

Benefits of Telephone Counselling

Telephone counselling can offer convenience as it allows for greater flexibility in arranging appointments and is not limited to geographical location. You have no need to travel, and therefore no travel costs. It is more accessible and there is no need to arrange child care or venture out on those cold, dark nights.
